The apache tear has been traditionally considered to be one of the tears of American Indian women, mourning for the warriors. It has also been used to comfort in times of grief; it metaphorically sheds the tears for one in times of sorrow, allowing for true understanding of the distress in order to provide both insight and acceptance. It allows one's comfort zone to remain at large.
